About The Preferred Preschool in Mesquite, Texas
We are a Frog Street© Curriculum-based preschool and childcare center in Mesquite. We care for children from birth to 13 years, and provide a range of childcare services, age-appropriate resources and activities, to encourage children’s development and enhance their learning journey.
Who We Are
The Preferred Preschool got its start in Mesquite in 2021 by Rebecca Tasie. We decided to do things a bit differently at The Preferred Preschool by creating a space which fosters early learning in a fun, safe, clean and organized environment, where children from birth to 13 years can explore the world around them.
We believe our innovative approach gives children a bright and positive start in life as we encourage both exploration and discovery, as well as emotional intelligence and building friendships.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on hands-on learning and creativity. By blending indoor and outdoor classrooms and environments in a home-away-from-home environment, we can create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn.
Our Story
The Preferred Preschool's story began 15 years ago when Rebecca Tasie took her first step into the world of childcare by opening a home daycare, before purchasing her own building as interest around her childcare grew. Her lifelong passion for helping children, along with her experience as a daycare director and her college studies in child psychology, inspired her to create The Preferred Preschool and childcare experience for Mesquite families.
With four children of her own and 15 years of happy marriage to her Husband, Rebecca deeply understands the importance of reliable childcare for parents. She is dedicated to giving back to her community by providing safe, supportive, and dependable childcare through The Preferred Preschool.

Rooms
At The Preferred Preschool, all of our rooms are split by age, ensuring that our kids receive learning opportunities that are suitable to their developmental needs. All of our rooms have low child-to-teacher ratios and are designed to provide our children with a variety of experiences that will enhance all aspects of their education.
Infant Room
Our infant room is a nurturing environment that ensures your child's well-being and growth while providing peace of mind for you as a parent. At The Preferred Preschool, we understand that each baby is unique, so we tailor our care to your child's specific schedule and preferences. Whether it's feeding, diaper changes, or nap times, your child's routine is our routine.
We provide a variety of age-appropriate toys and activities, all aimed at promoting sensory and motor skill development. From soft toys to colorful objects, our room is a stimulating yet safe place for your infant to explore.
At this age, we also incorporate the use of sign language, which is an effective way to help infants communicate their wants and needs to our caring and nurturing team, as well as accelerate early language and cognitive development.
Toddler Room
In our toddler room, we strive to create a home-away-from-home environment for your child, offering a nurturing, stimulating, and loving environment that encourages growth and development. Through sensory play, reading, music and more, we offer a well-rounded early learning experience while nurturing cognitive and creative development.
We aim to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages exploration, ensuring each child's holistic development. We introduce our Toddlers to a variety of classes including Spanish, Music and Art, to provide language-rich interactions and encourage their growth across multiple areas.
Preschool Room
In our Preschool Room, we offer carefully selected activities and resources to support your child's development. Our reading corner fosters a love for literacy and language skills, while our art station boosts fine motor skills and creativity.
Our vibrant play area promotes gross motor skills and socialization, emphasizing cooperative play and sharing, which is important for kindergarten readiness. We also provide puzzles and educational games for cognitive and problem-solving development.
We aim to encourage social interaction and foundational math and pre-reading skills by including group activities, such as circle time and music sessions, within our daily routines. Our preschool room is a comfortable, engaging, and supportive space that nurtures a love for learning and social development.
School -age Room
Our school-age room is designed to offer a diverse range of activities and resources to cater to your child's developmental needs. We prioritize education, offer homework assistance, nurture creativity, and provide an array of activities that promote physical well-being and social interaction, ensuring your child receives a well-rounded and enriching experience in our care.
To support their academic growth, we have a dedicated homework area where our experienced staff members offer homework help and tutoring. Your child can receive assistance with their assignments, ensuring they have a structured and supportive space to complete their schoolwork. We believe that this assistance can alleviate the stress of homework and promote a positive attitude towards learning.
Outdoor Learning
Our outdoor space provides children with a place to take part in physical activities that contribute to motor skill development, coordination, and physical fitness. Our play equipment allows our children to spend time socializing outdoors, helping them to develop their social skills in a relaxed and playful environment. At The Preferred Preschool, we believe that exposure to the natural environment stimulates curiosity and cognitive growth while teaching children to appreciate and respect the world around them.

Merging Teaching and Childcare
We believe that it’s never too early to start learning and that it’s vital to always present opportunities for children to learn and grow as soon as they start at our center.
By developing our programs with curriculum experts and childcare specialists, we’ve been able to hone in on what makes early education a success and created a learning program that allows our children to enter school seamlessly.
At The Preferred Preschool, we offer a variety of programs, including daycare, summer care, before-school care and after-school care for children up to 13 years of age.
After-School Care
At The Preferred Preschool, we provide a convenient school pickup service for local schools, ensuring that your child arrives safely at our center for after-school care until you're ready to collect them. Upon arrival, children can select a snack and beverage of their choice. Our qualified team is also available to assist with homework and provide tutoring as needed!
Summer Camp
Our all-day summer care program is thoughtfully designed to ensure that your child enjoys a safe and enriching summer experience. We offer a range of activities that are not only fun but also educational, including arts and crafts, outdoor play, sports, and group games. These activities encourage the development of vital social and cognitive skills. As part of our commitment to learning through adventure, we organize educational field trips to places like the museum, aquarium, and zoo. These excursions are designed to provide both entertainment and knowledge, with guided tours and hands-on experiences to engage and inspire your child.
Father/Son Mentorship Program
We recognize the significance of a father figure in a young child's life, but not everyone has the privilege of having this experience. This is why we've established our Father/Son Mentorship Program. We collaborate with members of our church community to provide school-age boys in our care with the chance to engage in a variety of fatherly activities. These include learning essential skills like tying a tie and developing carpentry and woodworking skills. The program also includes participation in sports activities, such as attending games and engaging in group sports to foster social skills and build meaningful relationships.
